She has been involved with the Alliance for the Arts since its inception and is currently a board member. Before becoming the Director of the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts, she consulted on educational opportunities. She is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a Bachelors and Masters in Art Education and was an art instructor for 30 years. In 2006, she founded the Open Concept Gallery in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where, as director, she managed art projects and art education programming. Sabo has a Master of Arts in Museum Studies with a concentration in Education from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.Carolyn is a true Floridian, born and raised in St. Sabo has also served as a national Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) grant reviewer. Sabo served as Executive Director at the Children’s Museum of Alamance County, was the founding Director of Education at the Golisano Children’s Museum of Naples, and coordinated art programs at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art and Kidspace Children’s Museum.

Sabo also coordinates the dynamic relationship between VSA Florida’s private 501c3 Board of Directors and the University of South Florida. As Executive Director of VSA Florida, Jennifer Sabo provides leadership and management to a statewide arts organization, supervising all functions related to administration, fundraising, and programming.
